Just some misc pictures

Here are just some miscelanous pictues. Tyler falling asleep after tearing up a can of pringles, having fun on the slide and a Dodgers game we attended last month.

Halloween

As you can see Tyler was a monkey this year, his whole school put on their costumes and paraded around campus. Tylers best friend is Calub (spiderman). These two are inseperable, Tylere was being a big turd untill his buddy showed up then he snapped right out of it and they became the center of attention as they kept hugging each other and holding hands as they walked in the parade and played.

Dog the Bounty Hunter

About 3 miles from our hotel is the office and giftshop of Dog the Bounter Hunter. I had to stop and atleast see if he was in.

Enjoying the beaches

Tyler loves the beach and playing in the sand and water, however he is not a big fan of getting burried in the sand. Jen and I took turns snorkeling and checking out all the colorfull fish on the reef. Not even 3 minutes of being in the water and I was taking pictures of and petting a huge sea turtle in the shallows.

The Hotel

We stated at the Hale Koa Hotel, it is for military personel only (past and present) and their families, it was conveniently located right on Waikiki Beach, just 2 miles from the center of Honolulu. Tylers favorite part of the Hotel was the balcony, he liked to eat all his meals out there and just check out the view of the beach and ocean, this sunset picture was taken off our balcony. This tree was in the lobbie down stairs, not sure what kind it is but you can see these weird branch things that hang down, they feel like aldente pasta.

Polynesian Culture Center

The Polynesian Culture Center was amazing, it demonstrates all the different islands in the pacific that had an influence on the development of Hawaii (Fuji, Somoa, Konga just to name a few). Each Island has their own city here that you can tour and they would display what it is they are known for; they make and sell food and items that are native to them as well as put on a live show to teach their culture. While here we went to a Luou and had roasted pig and watched the dancers. I think Tylers favorite part was the Pinacolada. After dinner we went to a show where they danced and did the flaming baton act. If anyone ever gets a chance to go here you must put this on the top of your to do list.

Rainforest Hike

This 200' waterfall was at the turnaround point of our hike, it was like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. What a great way to start off the morning.

Hike through the rainforest

We took about a 2 mile hike through the rainforest; it was nice and cool, damp, and peacefull in there; the trees provide this canopy of shade that just seemed to reach to the clouds.

Sunset over Waikiki

The sky wasn't as colorfull as I had hoped but still a beautifull sunset anyways.

Bishop Museum

We checked out the local museum which was all about the history of the Hawiian Islands; Tyler was most interested in the Dinosaurs though, they all moved and made a lot of noise. That T-Rex came to life and started moving and roaring when Tyler was on my shoulders, needless to say he freaked out and his legs totaly clenched around my neck as he held on for dear life so the dinosaur wouldn't get him.

Diamond Head Crater

We took a hike up to the top of Diamond Head Crater, it has breathtaking panoramic views of Waikiki and Honolulu, then after our decent we enjoyed some shaved ice to cool off.
